BOEING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM


Applications are invited from full-time undergraduate students of IIT Kharagpur for the Boeing Scholarships. Boeing Scholarship Program offers ten scholarships for B.Tech students (@Rs.10,000/ month). All students who have completed at least two courses offered by Aerospace Engineering Department and have secured a minimum CGPA of 8.0 are eligible to apply. All scholarship applicants would have to mandatorily undertake the Boeing Project (for details see the 'Boeing Student Project Program').

Applicants should submit the following*:

  1. Bio-Data in the given format.
  2. An essay on "Drone for Medical Application" limited to 1000 words. The applicants would have to sit and write the essay at the First Floor Seminar Room, Department of Aerospace Engineering, on 13th August 2018, 6.00PM. Maximum time allowed for completing the essay is one hour
  3. Statement of purpose (SOP) to outline the following activity during scholarship tenure: The scholarship recipient will have to interact with an area expert during the scholarship tenure. A topic of mutual research interest would have to be identified and the scholar would work on it during the scholarship period. A closure report would have to be submitted at the end of the period. This interaction should be separate from internship.

Hard copy of the application, comprising of Bio-Data, supporting documents and SOP are to be submitted to Dr. Mohammed Rabius Sunny, Department of Aerospace Engineering, along with a soft copy to boeing@aero.iitkgp.ernet.in on or before 13th August 2018.

Based on their applications, candidates would be shortlisted and would be called for a final selection interview on 17th August 2018.. In case of equivalent merit women and economically challenged students would be encouraged.

* Boeing scholarship applicants would have to satisfy the following requirements:

  • 3rd year student : Should submit a Bio-Data, SOP and appear for essay writing on the topic mentioned above. Would have to join one of the two Boeing Student Project groups comprising of 4th and 5th year students.
  • 4th year student : Should belong to a group of 4 students from 4th year who would be submitting a Boeing Student Project Proposal. Should submit a Bio-Data, SOP and appear for essay writing on the topic mentioned above.
  • 5th year student : Should belong to a group of 4 students from 5th year who would be submitting a Boeing Student Project Proposal. Should submit a Bio-Data, SOP and appear for essay writing on the topic mentioned above.
